Brazil and Ecuador faced off in the second match of Group B. Dunga’s experimental squad, captained by Dani Alves, couldn’t get past Gustavo Quinteros’ men in the 0 – 0 draw.

Chilean indie/pop maestro Gepe performed at The Echo on his most recent tour. He performed songs from his latest album, Estilo Libre, and others. Wendy Sulca wasn’t with him to perform their popular duet on his track “Hambre” but he did receive help from a pair of wonderful backup dancers in traditional dance outfits for a few songs.

Calentura took things to the next level last week, March 12th, when the monthly party by Subsuelo and Late Night Laggers moved further east to the El Rey Theatre. The reason? To celebrate the release of Calentura: Global Bassment on Fania Records, which I wrote about in LA Weekly.
The night included guests Peruvian Dark cumbia duo Dengue Dengue Dengue, Panamanian rudeboys Los Rakas, and Brazilian Trap duo Tropkillaz. Check out the video of each act below. Hella photos coming soon.
